The Somerset Junior Woman's Club wants to add some extra fun to your Halloween with our first CREEPY QUACKERS DUCK RACE on the creek at Rocky Hollow Park in downtown Somerset! This will help kick off the 2nd Annual Boo Bash on Saturday, October 31st at 4:00 PM. (Boo Bash is from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on East Mt. Vernon Street between South Central Avenue and Fountain Square.)Yellow plastic ducks will be numbered and will race to the finish line when the Somerset Fire Department floods the creek! Each duck in the race will correspond with a donor name.
Prizes will be awarded: $500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd, $100 for 3rd and a special gift card for LAST Place!
To adopt" your duck(s), you can DONATE $10 for one, $25 for a Quack Pack of 6 ducks, or $50 for a Quacker's Dozen of 13 ducks. There is NO LIMIT on the number of ducks you can "adopt" with your donations! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN!
And...here's the absolute best part:
ALL DONATED PROCEEDS (minus expenses) will be divided between the Somerset-Pulaski County Humane Society, Hope for All Pets Inc, and Born 2 Be Wild Wildlife Center, with 1/4 of the donations also going to SJWC community projects!! These three local animal organizations work tirelessly to rescue and save all sorts of domestic animals and wildlife; and SJWC is excited to help them raise much needed funds while also raising funds for more of our community activities.
Get your Duck Tickets from any SJWC member and various locations to be listed in the Discussion tab in this event.
**Disclaimer: Ducks will NOT be dressed in Halloween costumes.
