A creative, nature-inspired workshop offering a gentle space to find comfort, connection and calm through making, reflection and simple ritual. Grief can feel overwhelming, isolating and difficult to navigate. This workshop offers an opportunity to slow down, take a breath, and explore thoughtful ways to care for yourself through creativity and reflection.
Join us for a gentle afternoon where we'll create a meaningful self-soothing toolkit to support you through difficult moments. Together, we'll explore simple practices inspired by nature, creativity and ritual, leaving you with practical tools you can return to whenever you need comfort and reassurance.
This creative and reflective event isn’t a counselling session or grief support group. Instead, it's a workshop designed to help you build small acts of self-care and connection into everyday life, in a safe and supportive environment.
What to expect...
We'll begin by settling into the space with a warm welcome, a grounding meditation, and a short introduction to Creative Rituals.
Next, you'll be guided through a reflective journalling practice, with prompts designed to help you gently check in with yourself and explore what comfort, support and self-soothing mean to you.
Our main creative activity involves sewing a small fabric pouch by hand. This simple keepsake can be used to hold a pebble, crystal, note, herb, photograph, or other small symbolic object that feels meaningful to you. No sewing experience is needed, and we'll guide you through the process step by step.
We’ll have a short break after this, then create your personal self-soothing tool kit using:
- A grounding practice card you can keep and revisit
- Nature-inspired reflection prompts
- Your own mini self-care plan, which you’ll be supported to create
- Your handmade pouch and chosen symbolic item
Together, these elements will become a practical and personal resource that you can return to whenever you need a moment of comfort, grounding or connection.
We'll close with a gentle ending and optional sharing. There’s no pressure to talk about your experiences, and participants are welcome to engage at whatever level feels comfortable for them if they choose to.
