Explore a range of creative printmaking techniques in this welcoming, hands-on course. We’ll visit Christchurch Art Gallery to discover different printmaking methods and themes. Back at the CWEA, you’ll experiment with mono-printing and relief printing, using woodblocks and Gelli plates to create gift cards and larger artworks. This course is suitable for beginners. Inks, tools, plates, blocks and paper are supplied, and the cost of these materials is included in the course fee. New Zealand-inspired themes, particularly native birds and trees, will provide a starting point for your own designs. Please bring an old shirt or apron to protect your clothing—it may get messy!
