About this Event
It’s time for our lil’ Cockatoos to get creative and Meerkats to get messy!
Come along for the journey as our little ones are growing in their creative art-making fun. Watch as your little one has fun and develops further in fine and gross motor skills, creative thinking and encouraging language development.
Our class typically looks like this:
- Choose either Creative Cockatoo (Monday 9:30) OR Messy Meerkats (Wednesday 9:30)
-Runs for 60 mins
- The first part of the program is a set craft/cooking that we do together as a group. There is usually a finished product that can be taken home or eaten! The second half is messy play and is child-led
- Designed for 2-5-year-olds
- Messy play is a big part of our program, so old clothes are the best!
- We use safe, non-toxic and washable material
- Younger siblings are welcome to come and watch. However, we do ask if they are over 1 and are joining in that they enrol in the class.
- Activities are child-driven so they can choose how they want to participate
- Grown-ups are more than welcome to join in the creating too! It’s so much fun!
- The Mustard Seed is a local grassroots community centre, supporting our local community. The suburbs we support are Woolloongabba, East Brisbane, Coorparoo, Buranda, Stones Corner, Annerley, West End and Kangaroo Point. Please only book a spot if you are part of these suburban communities.
FAQ
Can I just turn up without a booking?
Please note that due to ratio restrictions, we are only able to offer a position to those who have booked a place in advance. If the event has sold out we will not be accepting any further admittance. We want to offer the best service and be prepared with enough materials, so we appreciate you for respecting this.
Can I take my friend's booking if they can't make it?
By all means, yes! But we do ask that you let us know when you arrive and sign in upon arrival
Where can I park?
We have a few car parks (at the rear of The Mustard Seed) that we share with our other tenancies, but it's first in best served. Access is via Wellington Road. BCC metred street parking is available in the area for about $1.50/hr. Please allow extra time to park and walk to The Mustard Seed.
Do you have a toilet?
Access to toilets (but please take soiled nappies with you) and kitchen facilities. Feel free to make a cuppa tea or coffee
