Creative Beginnings: Art Fundamentals & Exploration 🎨
Discover your creativity, learn the fundamentals of art and build confidence in your own artistic practice.
Join us at Liberation Art Gallery for a welcoming, relaxed art class designed for beginners and anyone looking to develop their creative skills.
Whether you're new to making art, returning after a break or simply curious to explore new techniques, these sessions offer the opportunity to learn, experiment and discover what you're capable of creating.
With guidance from an artist, you'll explore the fundamentals of art-making, develop your ideas and build a collection of your own artwork over time. Each session offers a different opportunity to learn practical skills, try new approaches and explore your individual creative interests.
What you'll explore
✨ The fundamentals of art-making
Discover the building blocks of visual art, including composition, shape, line, texture and mark-making.
✨ Colour and experimentation
Learn about colour theory, explore colour relationships and experiment with different ways of applying colour to your work.
✨ Drawing and observation
Develop your observational skills, learn to look more closely and discover how to translate what you see into your own artwork.
✨ Abstract art and creative exploration
Explore abstraction through shapes, marks, colour and texture, and discover how to create artwork without needing to represent something literally.
✨ Developing your own ideas
Learn how to find inspiration, explore possibilities and turn an initial thought, observation or idea into an artwork.
A class shaped around you
These sessions are designed to support you wherever you are in your creative journey. With individual guidance from an artist, you'll be encouraged to explore the techniques and ideas that interest you, ask questions and work at your own pace.
There's no expectation to produce a perfect finished piece. Instead, the focus is on learning through experimentation, developing your skills and gaining confidence in your own creative decisions.
As you attend more sessions, you'll have the opportunity to build a collection of your own artwork, explore different approaches and develop a better understanding of your personal creative interests.
