About this Event
Join Sherri Gallowitz, author of for a presentation and workshop discussing the art of graphic medicine and a chance to draw your own story. For older adults, but all adults are welcome.
With her Drawing on Empathy comics-creating workshop, Sherri uses the power of graphic storytelling to build empathy and understanding both within the healthcare community and beyond.
Sherri begins by describing her emotional roller coaster experience of caring for her 101-year-old father during his last year of life. Following a quick overview of comics-making basics, Sherri then leads participants of all skill levels in a hands-on creative activity where they are invited to tell an empathy-focused story in pictures and words.
