About this Event
In fine art portraiture, every detail comes together to convey an idea, an emotion, or a special meaning..the epitome of expression and storytelling as a photographer. Creation of a fine art portrait elevates every part of your process. The story and concept begin long before you ever pick up the camera.
You will learn the following:
- What is Fine Art Photography?
- Building Blocks of a Fine Art Session
- Tools for Writing with Light
Through every topic, you will watch a set and concept come to life right in front of you, in a way that inspires you to do the same for clients or personal projects in the future. Join Fujifilm Featured Creator Julie Gayler as we take a peek behind the curtain at the creative process of a fine art portrait.
Julie Gayler is a Fujifilm featured photographer and Westcott Top Pro who didn’t choose a genre as a specialty…she chose light!
That means as long as there’s a person with a vision in front of her camera, she’s in! Commercial campaigns and events, model and talent portfolios, branding, family portraits and cinematic/painterly art pieces keep her busy. She also loves collaborating with other photographers as a creative and lighting director—just as happy holding the light stand as taking the picture. She brings this mindset into every workshop she teaches across the country, breaking things down the way she wishes someone had when she first started.
When she’s not on the road teaching or working with clients, she’s a homeschool mom with a flock of dramatically photogenic chickens who occasionally wander into her art.
