About this Event
Don Campbell is a UK horror author with a lifelong love of the darker side of storytelling.
His stories explore the things that hide beneath the surface, creepy places, strange encounters, dark secrets and ordinary people finding themselves caught up in things they really shouldn’t have discovered. Don likes his horror grounded in believable characters and situations, before gradually taking things somewhere much darker.
About his Books:
Don’s debut novel, Whispers in the Woods, was inspired by a recurring childhood nightmare, and that experience sparked his journey into writing horror. Since then, he has released Midnight Harvest, a short story collection, and a hand full of Novellas: Fright Manifest, Naughty List, Butchered Hope and What Lives Here.
About the Author:
Don is dyslexic, and writing wasn’t always something he imagined he would do. For years, the idea of becoming an author felt like something meant for other people. Eventually, he decided to give it a go, proving to himself that dyslexia didn’t have to stand in the way of telling the stories he wanted to tell.
Away from writing, Don is a husband, dad and lifelong horror fan who spends far too much time thinking about new story ideas. He enjoys discovering independent horror authors and has appeared on countless podcasts. Don likes talking about books and films and generally finding new ways to scare people.
For Don, writing horror is about trying to create characters readers care about, putting them in seriously bad situations, and seeing just how or if they can get themselves out.
