About this Event
In the Creating Invisible Libraries research workshops, we will be exploring how memories and every-day movements can be used as an entryway into dance.
The practice is called Creating Invisible Libraries because it offers the idea that you can create your own invisible library of movements to draw from when dancing, just like you would be able to search for a book on a specific topic in a regular library. The aim of this research is to develop Creating Invisible Libraries into a practice which supports the wish to keep moving and dancing and being creative while navigating the changes and challenges which comes with an aging body.
All the workshops will last for two hours. They are split into three parts, which flow into each other: Remembering, Doing, and Playing.
At the end of each workshop, participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire and share any immediate thoughts or questions they might have, and this feedback lays the foundations for the development of the workshops and the evolving of Creating Invisible Libraries as a creative movement practice.
No previous dance experience is needed!
Please choose both dates when booking your ticket!
