Creating Calm Together at Maggio Lounge

We are Create Yourself Calm - we host workshops combining art and creativity with wellbeing and mindfulness which enable our participants to take time away from the to-do list and recharge. Our workshops are aimed at anyone from beginners to more experienced creatives.

Who are we?
We are a team professional facilitators, art teachers, counsellors, and a mindfulness teacher who share a passion for the crossover between creativity and self-care. We're here to help you really make the most of your me-time and experience the benefits creativity can have on your wellbeing.
What happens on the day?
After brief introductions we will share a gentle mindfulness practice to settle in together. Then we will guide you through a series of simple drawing exercises to loosen us all up. We will all work on one large piece of paper and will shift postition regularly so we don't get hung up on comparing our work to others. It will be truly collaborative.
After the relaxed drawing exercises there will be a short break where you can visit the bar for any further drinks you'd like to purchase.
For the second half of the evening we will be having lots of fun playing with watercolours, oil pastels and other materials to really bring our shared canvas to life. There is always so much amazement and joy during the painting phase where we will continue to move around the shared canvas. Don't worry if you have never painted before, tips on using watercolours will be given and how to use the materials. But the main tip is to have fun and let yourself relax into the process.
Don't worry if you're a complete beginner as this workshop is specifically designed to make it impossible not to produce some joyful, colourful creative work. It's also great for more experienced creatives to try really relax into something new and experiment. The main aim is to relax and enjoy the process and to forget all about organising home life/work/what to cook for dinner etc etc. for a couple of hours. The workshop will run for 2.5 hours at the end of which everyone will be given a piece of the shared canvas to take home.
There is plenty of parking in Billericay High Street during the evening including the big car park behind Iceland.
