About this Event
Join Trinity Academy Whitehill for Building Strong Foundations – Creating an Early Years Environment from 2 to 5
A free event exploring how schools can design provision that gives the youngest children the best possible start. Following the recent opening of our new 2-year-old unit, this session will share how we have created a coherent curriculum and environment spanning ages 2 to 5, ensuring children's learning builds smoothly from their first days with us through to the end of Reception.
Colleagues will hear about the thinking behind our curriculum design, including how we have sequenced early communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development so that children grow in confidence and are ready for the next stage. The session will also explore how the environment itself has been planned, both indoors and outdoors, to support exploration, independence and secure relationships, and how it adapts as children's needs change between ages 2 and 5.
We will reflect honestly on our learning so far since opening the unit: what has worked well, what we have refined, and how our provision continues to evolve. A key focus will be the benefits of an inclusive environment, showing how thoughtful planning, skilled interactions and careful environment design help every child feel safe, settled and ready to learn.
This free event is ideal for school leaders, Early Years leads, SENDCos, nursery practitioners and anyone considering or developing provision for 2-year-olds.
