About this Event
Kinusaiga is a beautiful Japanese-inspired fabric art technique that uses fabric to create a textured mosaic—without sewing! Traditionally created with silk kimono fabric, this class uses colorful cotton prints and patterns for a fresh, modern take on the craft.
Designed especially for beginners, this 6 x 6 inch Fall Design uses a simplified pattern with generously sized sections, making the technique comfortable and enjoyable to learn.
You’ll choose from an assortment of colorful fall prints and patterns, cut each piece to fit your design, and use a simple plastic tool to gently press the edges into the prepared grooves. With so many possible fabric combinations, every finished piece will be unique.
All materials are provided. But you’re also welcome to bring fabric from home—perhaps a favorite print or fabric from a meaningful item such as a tie, shirt, or other keepsake—to make your artwork even more personal. Lightweight, non-stretch fabric works best.
