Make a Coping Altar
Create a small personal altar for attention, grounding, remembrance, resilience, or whatever you need help holding.
In this reflective, hands-on workshop, artist Bramble Lee Pryde will introduce participants to the ideas behind Strange Companions, an evolving project about how people use objects, rituals, systems, and stories to live alongside uncertainty.
Participants will be guided through a private exercise to consider what they want their altar to acknowledge, protect, remember, invite, release, or make space for. You will not be required to share your personal reflections with the group. After a demonstration of the available materials and possible approaches, participants will build a small altar using objects, images, words, textures, and constructed elements.
These altars are not intended as cures or solutions. They are personal sites of recognition: places to pause, return, remember, or give physical form to something that may otherwise remain difficult to hold.
No previous art experience is required. Participants will leave with a completed coping altar of their own.

This is a barrier-free workshop presented as part of Strange Companions, a residency by Bramble Lee Pryde and Steve Pi.
