Crawfish Boil Pot Cake Class
Is it cake... or did somebody dump a crawfish boil on the table? 🦞 In this advanced 3D cake class, students will transform cake and edible mediums into a realistic Louisiana crawfish boil—complete with a towering crawfish pot overflowing with crawfish, corn, potatoes, and plenty of realistic details.
Students will create their own 3D Crawfish Boil Pot Cake, learning how to transform a traditional tall cake into a realistic metal stockpot while creating hand-sculpted and molded edible components to complete the illusion.
This class focuses heavily on realistic food sculpting, molding, texturing, hand-painting, shading, and specialty finishes designed to make you look twice before realizing it's actually cake!

What You'll Learn
Fundamentals of 3D cake construction
How to assemble and prepare a tall cake for a dimensional design
How to transform a traditional cake shape into a realistic object
Working with fondant and modeling chocolate
How to use specialty molds to create detailed edible elements
Hand-sculpting techniques for realistic food pieces
Creating realistic crawfish, corn, potatoes, and other boil-inspired details
Advanced hand-painting, shading, highlighting, and color layering
Creating realistic color variations and details on sculpted crawfish
Using edible glazes and finishes to achieve a realistic glossy appearance
Creating a convincing metallic finish on the crawfish pot
Working with edible paints, dusts, textures, and specialty finishing techniques
Incorporating edible printed elements into a finished cake presentation
Arranging multiple sculpted elements to create a polished, realistic finished design

What You'll Take Home
Each student will leave with one completed Crawfish Boil Pot Cake on a finished cake board, including the decorated pot cake, edible crawfish, corn, potatoes, and boil-inspired elements incorporated into the top of the design.
The finished presentation will also include edible newspaper beneath the cake for an extra touch of Louisiana crawfish-boil realism.
The additional crawfish, corn, potatoes, and other pieces scattered around the cake in the promotional photo are photo styling and are not guaranteed as part of the class project. If time and materials allow and students create additional pieces, they may add them to their finished board where space permits.

Late Arrival Policy
Our Advanced 3D Cake Classes are full-day, fast-paced classes, and arriving on time is essential. Students who arrive one hour or more late without contacting us before class begins will be denied entry and will forfeit all funds paid.
We understand that unexpected delays happen—especially for students traveling from out of town or out of state. If you know you are running late, please email us before the scheduled class start time so we can determine what accommodations, if any, can be made.
Late arrivals can significantly delay instruction for the entire group, so please plan accordingly and allow extra travel time. Arriving a little early is always encouraged!

Lunch Break & What to Bring
Because our Advanced 3D Cake Classes are full-day, hands-on classes, we will do our best to take a 30–45 minute lunch break, depending on the group's progress and where we are in the decorating process. Lunch may fall anywhere between 12:00–2:00 p.m.
Weekend traffic in Lafayette can make leaving for lunch and returning on time difficult, so we strongly recommend bringing a meal with you. Food delivery may also be an option if the storefront is open; however, hours may vary, particularly during the holidays.
For a more comfortable day, we recommend bringing plenty of drinks and snacks, a light jacket (the classroom can get chilly), an apron, and—if you'd like—a seat cushion, as classroom chairs can become uncomfortable during an extended class.

No Discounts
Due to the unusually high cost of materials, custom components, and preparation, no discounts, coupons, promotional codes, or membership discounts apply to this class.
It's Just a Cookie memberships exclude advanced 3D specialty classes exceeding $200, as disclosed in the membership terms.

Refunds, Cancellations & Transfers
All payments are non-refundable for any reason, at any time.
Transfer requests must be submitted at least one month before the class date, require the applicable transfer fee, and are considered case-by-case. A request does not guarantee approval.
Tickets may be gifted to another person, but all name changes and transfers must be processed and approved directly through It's Just a Cookie. Private resale or unapproved transfers are not permitted.
Cancellations made within one month of class, last-minute cancellations, or no-shows will result in the loss of all funds paid. No exceptions.
By purchasing a full ticket or deposit ticket, you acknowledge and agree to these policies.
For all additional class and purchase policies, please review the FAQ section of our website.
