About this Event
Join us for a special parallel learning session designed to support both parents and high school students in building stronger advocacy skills within the school system.
While parents participate in a session on Crafting IEP SMART Goals, high school students will take part in their own session focused on Self-Advocacy , giving young people the tools and confidence to speak up for their needs and play an active role in their education.
For Parents: Crafting IEP SMART Goals
Learn how to create clear, specific, and meaningful SMART goals for your child’s IEP. You’ll have the opportunity to develop practical reference documents that you can take home and use when working with your child’s school team.
For High School Students: Self-Advocacy
Students will explore what self-advocacy means, how to communicate their needs, and how to participate more confidently in conversations about their education and support.
✨ Both sessions are FREE and participants will create practical reference materials to take home.
Whether you’re a parent looking to strengthen your advocacy skills or a student ready to have a stronger voice in your education, this session is designed to give you practical tools you can use right away.
