Cowes Maritime History: A Ropey Tale – 1.5 miles

Learn about Cowes' salty past and get your sea legs with the RNLI, as you walk the town centres looking for historical maritime treasure. The walk will include a tour of Cowes RNLI Station.

Length of walk: 1.5 miles (Approx. 3 hours)

Type of Walk: Circular

Walk Start/Finish point: Watch House Shelter next to Cowes RNLI Station, Watch House Lane, Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 7QH. (approx SZ 496 958)

Pace of Walk: Gentle This walk will follow a gentle pace.

Walk Grade: Moderate Mainly flat walking, on paths with good surfaces.

This walk includes a tour of Cowes lifeboat Station; which is a working environment with stairs. To take part in both the morning and afternoon walk, on the same day, a participant would need to make their way across the Medina to the second start location.
