About this Event
Join denim designer Melody Willis of Chop YAM® for a hands-on workshop creating a sculptural denim puffer scarf. Using denim and batting, participants will learn how padding and construction can transform a traditionally rigid fabric into a dimensional accessory that holds its shape when worn.
Throughout the workshop, Melody will guide participants through constructing the scarf, including creating padded channels and the keyhole opening used to secure and style the finished piece. By the end of the session, each participant will leave with their own completed denim puffer scarf and techniques they can apply to future projects.
Sewing Machine Availability: We have 10 Janome MOD-15 Easy-to-Use Sewing Machines (featuring 15 stitches, adjustable stitch length, and 5-piece feed dogs) available for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. You are also welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer!
