Sometimes, the problem is not the relationship itself.
It is what stress, trauma, attachment patterns, emotional dysregulation and neurodivergent nervous systems bring into the relationship.
When these factors are not understood, couples can find themselves caught in the same painful cycles:
• One partner becomes overwhelmed while the other feels shut out
• One seeks reassurance while the other withdraws
• Small disagreements trigger disproportionately intense reactions
• Overthinking, irritability or shutdown replace meaningful communication
• Both partners begin feeling misunderstood, blamed or as though they are constantly walking on eggshells
This workshop helps couples understand what is happening beneath these patterns.
It is not about deciding who is right, who is wrong, or which partner is “the problem.” It is about understanding the relationship as a system—and recognising how each person’s history, nervous system, emotional triggers and individual wiring influence the way that system functions.
After two exceptionally well-attended workshops and incredibly positive feedback, I am delighted to be offering this experience for a third time.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴:
✓ High-functioning stress responses
✓ Cycles of emotional dysregulation
✓ Attachment-related triggers and insecurity
✓ Chronic overthinking or overwhelm
✓ Repeated misunderstandings and conflict
✓ Emotional withdrawal, shutdown or avoidance
✓ The feeling of constantly walking on eggshells
During this professionally facilitated three-hour workshop, you will learn how to:
✓ Understand why your recurring patterns develop
✓ Recognise how your histories and nervous systems interact
✓ Identify the triggers beneath conflict and disconnection
✓ Build emotional awareness and regulation as a team
✓ Communicate in ways that feel safer and clearer
✓ Reduce blame and increase compassion for one another
✓ Use practical tools that can be applied immediately
You will leave with a deeper understanding of yourself, your partner and the relationship dynamic you create together—as well as a shared language for navigating stress, triggers and emotional needs more effectively.
This is also a meaningful starting point for couples who are considering counselling but are not yet ready or able to commit to longer-term sessions.
