Learn more about the operations and budget of your county government at the second annual Whatcom County Open House on September 30th from 6:00PM to 7:30PM in the County Courthouse. Staff from across county departments and elected offices will be available to answer questions from the public and showcase upcoming projects and initiatives.
“We are committed to making the work we do on your behalf as accessible as possible,” said County Executive Satpal Sidhu. “I invite you to come to the courthouse and connect neighbor-to-neighbor with your local government,”
Participants will have the opportunity to hear about the new jail and behavioral care facility, review the upcoming county budget process, learn about the how our court system supports justice, and test your knowledge of Whatcom County trivia.
Elected officials will also be available to meet with the public and listen to concerns.
“Transparency means more than just making information available. It means having real conversations with the community we serve. This Open House is a great opportunity to have those conversations and learn about all of the work happening across the county,” said County Council Chair Kaylee Galloway.
