About this Event
True Pricing makes these hidden costs visible, measurable, and comparable, so we can start closing the gap between what we pay and what things really cost.
This session from True Price unpacks two recent True Cost Accounting (TCA) assessments, supported by the Netherlands Food Partnership’s True Pricing Seed Fund, covering coffee in Latin America and cocoa in Côte d’Ivoire. You’ll hear what these studies actually found, from the true cost of cocoa production and how new revenue from side-streams like cocoa juice can help close farmers’ living income gap, to how conservation efforts on rainforest-grown coffee can reduce land-occupation costs.
Expect true price numbers, honest stories about what works (and what doesn’t), when putting TCA into practice, and an open discussion on what these lessons mean for entrepreneurs, consumer communication, brands, funders, and policymakers.
