House of Spells Times Square invites cosplayers, makers, photographers and fans to a different kind of cosplay competition.
Rather than disappearing into an enormous field of competitors, only 25 cosplayers will compete. That gives every costume room to breathe. See the details. Meet the maker. Talk about how it was built. Celebrate the extraordinary amount of creativity that goes into bringing fictional characters into the real world.
THE CONTEST
25 advance-registered cosplayers will compete before a judging panel to be announced. Prizes will be awarded for First Place, Second Place and Third Place. Competitor registration must be completed in advance.
THE MIXER
The competition is only part of the night. Meet other cosplayers and fans and talk about construction techniques, materials, sewing, armor, props, wigs, makeup and the wonderfully strange process of making cosplay. You don't need to compete - or even arrive in costume - to attend.
EVERY ATTENDEE RECEIVES A DOOR GIFT
Because everybody should leave Comic Con weekend with at least one more thing than they arrived with.
