About this Event
Ever looked at the corners of your baseboards, door trim, or wall molding and wondered, "Why is there a huge gap here—and how do I make it look seamless?" You are not alone, and you are not behind.
Most women were never actually shown how to measure angled cuts or lay down a smooth bead of caulk. So trim projects get delayed, miscut wood ends up in the scrap pile, and gaps at wall corners stay unfixed.
Join Tammy Watson—founder of Canadian Handywoman—for a practical, hands-on workshop focused on conquering trim, baseboards, and corner joints. Designed by women, for women, this session gives you the time, space, and support to run a miter saw, cut precise angles, and seal every seam yourself—not just watch someone else do it.
No pressure, no rushing, and no judgment. Because once you understand how angles and caulking work together, you can transform any room in your home with confidence.
🛠️ What You’ll Learn & Practice
- The Miter Saw (Chop Saw) Basics: How to safely set up, adjust angles (45° and 90°), and make clean, accurate cuts on trim and baseboards.
- Measuring & Angle Matching: How to measure wall corners (including out-of-square walls) so your inside and outside miter joints line up correctly.
- Nailing & Fastening: How to position and secure trim pieces cleanly without damaging the wood face.
- Caulking Like a Pro: Choosing the right caulk, loading the gun, laying a steady bead, and smoothing seams so gaps completely disappear before painting.
- Hands-On Practice: Practice measuring, cutting miter angles on real trim, and caulking joints on demo corner setups so you leave with real muscle memory!
💡 What to Expect
- Small Group Focus: Class size is strictly limited so every attendee gets dedicated, side-by-side coaching.
- Safe, Zero-Judgment Space: Ask all the questions you want, make test cuts, and learn how caulk fixes real-world corner imperfections.
- Leave Capable: Walk away knowing exactly how to measure, cut, and finish baseboards or accent trim in your own home.

- You want to replace baseboards, add trim, or build decorative wall framing on your own.
- You feel intimidated by miter saws or nervous about making wrong cuts.
- You want to learn how caulking turns imperfect cuts into seamless, professional-looking corners.
