About this Event
Learn worm composting with Haleakalā Farm’s Upcycle Program and discover how worms can transform everyday food scraps into nutrient-rich castings for healthier soil and plants.
This hands-on workshop will introduce you to the basics of setting up and maintaining a worm composting system at home. You’ll learn what worms eat, how to create the right balance of food and bedding, how to keep your worm bin healthy, and how to use finished worm castings in gardens and container plants.
As part of the workshop, you’ll take home a free worm bin and worms so you can begin composting your food scraps right away. No previous composting or gardening experience is necessary.
Turn food scraps into a valuable resource and help reduce the amount of organic waste sent to the landfill!
