About this Event
In this workshop, we’ll focus on the following questions: What makes up the ecosystem you’re embedded in? Can you describe the interactions between different elements? What counts as an element—living beings, environments, inanimate objects, other entities?
Participants will bring in a variety of images and objects that depict their unique ecosystems. By way of copying (using techniques like observational drawing, tracing, and photocopying), we’ll meditate on these images’ designs and significances. We’ll then collage these elements together to make a unique image. The aim of this process is to deepen an understanding of your web, as well as how you relate to the elements that surround you.
Participants will leave with their own handmade collages.
No experience necessary. Materials provided.
This workshop is hosted by General Store, a project by Jon Flannery and Julia Lipovsky to nurture and inspire creative living.
