About this Event
Somers Town Community Association has been on our very own journey with climate action, which officially began when we were chosen to be funded to be one of the two neighbourhoods to pilot the Future Neighbourhood 2030 programme. This funding allowed us to broaden and deepen our conversations around climate and what it means to be climate resilient, as an individual and as a part of a wider community, whilst also very much connecting this into our programme of activities and services across both our centres.
While Somers Town continues to sit in the middle of massive, significant developments, we also recognise that there is still so much that can be done to address high rate of deprivation, the topic of climate also cannot be ignored and sits amid valuable, political shifts. As the conference of parties approaches its 30th year, we are more committed to be a voice in these conversations.
One way we’re doing that is by hosting a series of events designed to inspire and empower climate action; to show that good work is happening and that positive change is still very much possible. We believe that by working together, we can achieve a greater impact. To that end, we are hosting the space for for like-minded organisations to host their own events and share their work during the two weeks of CoP 30 (10th to 21st of November). There is a variety of events to choose from.
