Cooking From the Farm: Flavors of Fall
Saturday, November 7th, 10 AM - 12:30 PM
at Alemany Farm
Instructor: Tamara Kahhale and Auguste Brown
Come to Alemany Farm to explore seasonal cooking in the fall months. Learn more about the importance of eating seasonally, harvesting seasonal crops, and balancing flavors in your warm fall meals. Together we will cook a few comforting dishes (vegetarian friendly) in our outdoor kitchen and enjoy them together in community. Please bring your own knife and cutting board!
Please note: kids 15 years or older are welcome
Tamara Kahhale (she/her) is a former electrical engineer turned landworker who was in the climate technology space before realizing that she wanted to approach the climate crisis from an agricultural and land-based lens. She has developed a deep passion for regenerative agriculture and soil health, as well as food justice and sovereignty, climate education, and community-driven practices. As the daughter of Lebanese immigrants, she has a deep connection to food and believes that everyone has a right to eat culturally relevant food in a way that helps the planet. She has one and a half years of professional kitchen experience — both in the kitchen and teaching — and has been a hobby chef and baker for all her adult life. Tamara has been part of the Alemany Farm team for 1.5 years as a workday leader and garden/ nutrition coodinator.
Auguste Brown (he/him) has been a volunteer at Alemany since early 2025 and is an experienced home cook. Coming from a background in the climate space, Auguste is passionate about building food systems that nourish us and our planet alike. As a Bay Area native, he also gets fulfillment from a deep connection to the land and local seasonality. Auguste is a firm believer in the power of food to bring people together, and has seen this first hand at Alemany Farm. When not volunteering at the farm, Auguste works in renewable energy, and is always happy to nerd out about batteries or microgrids.
