A guided walking tour in the green and scenic Conwy Valley nestled under the rugged peaks of Eryri and open moorlands.The day begins in Llanrwst, the historic market town on the banks of the river Conwy. You’ll join a guided tour around many of its historic sites, including the beautiful 15th century St Grwst’s church, the almshouses and the wonderful, sometimes modern-traffic-confounding, 1636 bridge.
You’ll then take the train the short distance to picturesque Betws y Coed, which lies at the confluence of four beautiful, forested valleys. The grandeur of the scenery led it to become home to one of the country’s earliest artists colonies and a popular destination for travellers, which persists to this day. You’ll exit the charming railway station and see evocative traces of its lead mining history and the powerful Afon Llugwy racing over the rocks beneath the Pont y Pair bridge. You’ll see the historic St Michael's Church and the larger St. Mary’s which track the village’s growth and development.
There will be a break in the tour to enjoy lunch.
Finally, you’ll take the train back to Llanrwst, where the tour ends.

Meeting point: Llanrwst Library, Glasdir, Plas yn Dre, Llanrwst, LL26 0DF. Meet at entrance to library. There is a bus stop close by to access bus services.

Betws y Coed: 2 hrs - 2 miles / 3.2k (approximate depending on weather/mobility.)
Total: 3 hrs - 3 ¼ miles (5.25 km)
Accessibility:
Llanrwst – Step free access to the platform via a moderately steep ramp with no handrails from Denbigh Street. The ramp has rainwater gullies that may cause difficulty to wheelchair and mobility scooter users.
Betws y Coed – Step free access to the station from Station Road.

The walk is not intended for children, although may be suitable for older teenagers with an interest in the subject. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite, we may be able to offer your space to someone on the waitlist.

The tours celebrate the stories, people and places that connect communities along the rail network. Each tour is guided by accredited Green Badge Tour Guides, with participants travelling by train or bus between destinations and enjoying a locally sourced lunch along the way.
