It is easy to walk past without a second thought. But what happens when we finally stop, pull up a seat, and truly listen? On October 8th and 9th, leading up to World Homeless Day, Winchester Rescue Mission is joining Citygate Network ministries across North America for a powerful 24-hour livestream event: Conversations on a Bench.
Our CEO, Lauren Clouse, will be outside our 2655 Valley Avenue facility on a simple wooden bench. There are no scripts and no polished presentations. This will be 24 hours of raw, honest conversations about the realities of homelessness, addiction, mental health, and the life-transforming hope that happens when a community decides to see the unseen.
We are stepping outside to strip away the stigma and rehumanize the men and women fighting to survive in our city. We want you to be part of this movement.
How You Can Participate:
Pull Up a Seat: Stop by the mission during the event. Sit down with Lauren, ask questions, and have a real conversation with us.
Amplify the Message: Tune in to the livestream right here on Facebook and hit "share." Your timeline could be the exact place someone learns how to help.
Multiply Your Impact: If you are moved to support our neighbors, plan to give during the event. We have incredible matching gift partners lined up who are ready to double your financial impact on the spot.
A bench is just wood and metal until someone sits down. We saved you a seat.
