Conversations in Jazz: Ilario Ferrari & Omar Puente (Feat. Mara Ashton)

Conversations in Jazz — Coming Together
Ilario Ferrari & Omar Puente
With special guest Mara Ashton

Sunday 29 November 2026 | St John’s Church, Watford

We’re delighted to present the final concert in the Conversations in Jazz series for 2026, hosted in the beautiful St John’s Church, Watford—just an eight-minute walk from Watford Junction Station.

Italian singer-songwriter, pianist and guitarist Ilario Ferrari reunites with celebrated Cuban violin virtuoso Omar Puente for an uplifting afternoon of music, friendship and improvisation.

Through many shared performances, Omar and Ilario have developed a close musical and personal bond. Their collaboration explores the connections between Omar’s Cuban heritage and Ilario’s southern Italian roots, bringing together classical and jazz influences, rhythmic energy, spontaneous improvisation and soulful vocals.

For this special afternoon, singer and actress Mara Ashton will join them for selected songs, including “Imparo dalle stelle” (“Learning from the Stars”), a new duet by Ilario that will feature on his forthcoming album, Letters From Myself, in 2027.

Expect original compositions, reimagined favourites and beloved Latin jazz classics, woven together with humour, storytelling and the warmth of a musical conversation between friends.

🕒 Time: 3–5pm, with a 20-minute interval
🍰 Refreshments: Tea, drinks and cakes available to purchase—and Pav’s chai returns to warm your afternoon!

Come together with us for a joyful close to this year’s series.
