Only about 5% of age-eligible people donate blood each year.That small number makes every donor important — especially for patients facing cancer and other serious health conditions.
About 25% of the U.S. blood supply is used for cancer care. Blood and blood products, including platelets or plasma, might be needed during cancer treatment, surgery, or when patients experience low blood counts.
This October, if you’re eligible to donate, please join us for a blood drive hosted by Versiti Blood Center of Dayton:
• Tuesday, Oct. 13
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Reid Health Connersville, second floor, 2500 Park Road
Donors will receive a “Stronger Than Cancer” T-shirt from Versiti while supplies last.
The next opportunity to donate blood at Reid Health will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Reid Health Richmond in Lingle Grand Hall, 1100 Reid Parkway.
