The Washington International Young Artists Music Series (WIYAMS) proudly presents CONFLUENCE, a collaborative concert bringing together WIYAMS Artists and WIYAMS Young Artists with outstanding musicians from Shenandoah Conservatory and the Royal College of Music in London.
Taking place on Saturday, September 19 at 2:30 PM at Goodson Chapel – Recital Hall, the concert features pianists Allison Estabrook, Andrew Wood, Charles Roberts, Yan Shun Joseph Wong, and Sau In Tiana Wong; bass clarinetist Cooper Headrick; pianist Ido Shalom and guitarist Weijia Chen; saxophonist Wentao Luan; and hornist Maria Alexander.
The program spans works by Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Albéniz, Scriabin, Bozza, Gershwin, Sancan, and Vignery, offering a richly varied afternoon of solo and chamber music.
Inspired by the Shenandoah Valley—where waters traveling from different directions come together—the title CONFLUENCE reflects the spirit of this gathering. Musicians from different institutions, cultures, and artistic paths meet in one place, each bringing a distinct voice while creating something greater together.
WIYAMS extends its sincere appreciation to Shenandoah University, Shenandoah Conservatory, and all participating artists and educators for supporting artistic exchange, mentorship, and international collaboration.
