Go Behind the Music: Candlelight ChristmasWhat makes a Candlelight Christmas concert so enchanting, and why do the carols and choral works of the season hold such a special place in our hearts? Join Larimer Chorale Artistic Director Mike Krueger for a free, informal pre-concert conversation exploring the music, traditions, and stories behind this beloved holiday program.
Mike will share the history behind some of the pieces on the program, offer insight into the texts and traditions that inspired them, and explore what gives this music its warmth, beauty, and sense of wonder. You’ll hear live and recorded musical examples, get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Chorale’s rehearsals and preparation, and discover what to listen for when the Chorale takes the stage by candlelight.
Come curious, bring your questions, and bring a brown-bag lunch if you’d like! No musical expertise required, just an interest in hearing the story behind the music.
