🎨 CompassionART – free crafts, a cuppa and friendly companyJoin us for the first session of CompassionART, our new relaxed creative group for adults aged 18+ in Nottinghamshire.
📅 Thursday 5 November 2026
🕐 1pm–3pm
📍 The Pauleen Davies Centre, 25 Prospect Street, Radford, NG7 5QE
💜 Completely free – including activities, materials and refreshments
After the first session, CompassionART will run every Thursday, 1pm–3pm, during term time. You’re welcome to come along regularly or simply give it a try and see how you get on.
You don’t need to think of yourself as artistic or have any previous arts or crafts experience. Activities are designed for all abilities, and you can take part as much or as little as you like – there’s no pressure to create anything perfect.
You also don’t need to have a diagnosis, be receiving Hospice care or have any previous connection with Nottinghamshire Hospice. No professional referral is needed either.
You might fancy trying something creative and meeting new people. You might be feeling lonely, living with a long-term illness, caring for someone or have experienced grief. Whatever brings you along, you’ll find a warm and welcoming space where you can enjoy good company and join in at your own pace.
👩🎨 What happens at CompassionART? 👩🎨
Each session will include simple, accessible arts and crafts, which could include painting and drawing, colouring, seasonal crafts, collage, textiles or clay activities.
There’ll also be plenty of time for a cuppa and conversation.
A facilitator will be there to introduce the activity and help you get started, with friendly volunteers on hand too.
There’s no expectation to talk about your personal circumstances or experiences. You can simply come along, enjoy being creative and spend time with other people.
🤔 Do I need to book? 🤔
No – just come along.
The centre is accessible and has parking available. It’s also around five minutes’ walk from frequent bus services on Alfreton Road.
If getting to the group is something you’re worried about, please get in touch and we can talk through your individual circumstances.
If you need personal care while you’re at the group, please bring your own carer with you, as personal care is not provided by the group.
