About this Event
Caregiving can be stressful, isolating, and overwhelming. COMPASS for the Caregiver provides a supportive space to connect with others, reflect on your caregiving experience, and build strategies to support your own well-being.
Thursday Evenings | 6:00 PM–8:30 PM
Location: Banff Public Library (101 Bear Street)
Dates: October 22, October 29, November 5, and November 12
Our award-winning COMPASS for the Caregiver is a four-session, interactive workshop series that helps caregivers better understand their role, manage stress, strengthen relationships, navigate systems and services, and balance their own well-being with the challenges of caregiving. Each session is facilitated by someone who understands the caregiving experience and creates a welcoming, supportive environment for participants.
Supported by RAM Projects and Renovations
The COMPASS for the Caregiver program has a $300 value. Thanks to the generous support of RAM Projects and Renovations, a locally owned and operated Banff business, this program is being offered at no cost to Bow Valley caregivers.
Session 1 – “Being a Caregiver”
Caregiving can be stressful, isolating, and have an impact on your physical and mental well-being. Explore your role as a caregiver while assessing your strengths, challenges, and overall sense of self.
Session 2 – “Managing Your Stress”
Learn how stress can contribute to burnout and explore strategies to prevent or recover from burnout. We’ll look at ways to shift your mindset and find greater balance in your caregiving role.
Session 3 – “Balancing Relationships”
Build communication skills to identify what you need, ask for help, and share the care. Explore how caregiving can affect relationships and discover ways to maintain your identity and well-being while caring for someone else.
Session 4 – “Navigating the System”
Increase your confidence in accessing services and supports, reflect on your caregiving journey, and plan for the future to reduce the stress associated with uncertainty.

Your Facilitator: Anna-Lisa
Anna-Lisa is a soul-led teacher, seeker, guide, and passionate Bow Valley Ambassador for Caregivers Alberta. Fuelled by decades of enriching experiences in education, immigration, and hospitality in Ontario and, for the past 18 years, in the Bow Valley, Anna-Lisa believes in the power of nurturing welcoming spaces for healing, connection, and transformation. She integrates her deep connections to nature, community, and holistic well-being to accompany others, no matter their age, stage of life, or background, through the “soulful adventures” of life.
Navigating her own caregiving journey and a season of intensive loss led Anna-Lisa to discover Caregivers Alberta in 2022. This connection has been integral to Anna-Lisa finding new paths as she seeks to authentically reintegrate into society and honour the legacy of love and service passed on by her parents, Tony and Connie Celli.
Anna-Lisa has had the pleasure of facilitating COMPASS for the Caregiver online through Caregivers Alberta and is excited to facilitate the program in person for the third time in her home community of caregivers. Anna-Lisa is particularly grateful for the generous support of her husband, Adrian, and his business partner, Miko Ramsay of RAM Projects and Renovations, whose financial contributions are helping make this opportunity a reality for Bow Valley caregivers.
