What to expect
We’ll begin with movement, mantras, and breath, then settle into a still sound journey with glass and bronze singing bowls, bells, chimes, and a brand-new gong. These instruments create an immersive soundscape intended to help diffuse excess energy, stress, and mental chatter.
Masking is appreciated for flu season but not required.
What exactly is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where you are immersed in soothing sounds and vibrations to help quiet the mind and relax the body. It is called a "bath" because you are essentially "bathing" in sound waves- people lie down or sit comfortably while a facilitator plays instruments that create a continuous, immersive soundscape.
The facilitator uses instruments like singing bowls, gongs, chimes, bells and other instruments to produce specific tones and frequencies. Participants are invited to focus on the sounds in the same way they might focus on their breath during meditation, which can help guide the brain into a deeply relaxed, meditative state.
Some folks find following the breath to be difficult, a sound bath is just another tool we can use when we need a little bit of extra help.
