Community Listening Session Antelope Valley Equity Atlas
Join us in person for this community listening session! EmpowerTHEM Collective is hosting a Community Listening Session to make sure the voices of Antelope Valley residents shape how Los Angeles County understands and invests in our community. The session is part of the Antelope Valley Community Listening Grants, supported by the County’s Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion Initiative (ARDI), and feeds directly into the Antelope Valley Equity Atlas.
We are bringing together residents for a conversation built around listening, not presentations. After a shared welcome and community agreements, participants will move into small breakout groups led by trained community facilitators. Each group will focus on two priority areas: Physical and Mental Health, and Income, Employment, and Economic Opportunity. We will talk about what is working, what barriers residents face, and which investments would make the biggest difference. The session closes with a group priority-setting activity so participants leave knowing their voices were counted.
To remove barriers to participation, we are providing culturally relevant food and refreshments, participant incentives, and transportation support for those who need it. Everything shared will be documented and submitted to the project team, and individual quotes will only be used with participant consent.
