Our next Community event features one of Australia's most talented exports LOODS! Raised in the coastal, industrial Australian town of Newcastle (better known as the Steel City), Loods is an understated character with a fun, raw take on dance music.
After relocating from Sydney to London in 2018, Loods released two sell-out records on longtime friend Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs label, played a Boiler Room set at London's iconic Southbank Centre, and delivered mixes for Rinse FM, NTS and Triple J, amid touring extensively throughout the UK and Europe.
In 2019, Loods enjoyed the release of another sell-out Steel City Dance Discs EP, as well as summer anthem 'Walking Away' on Classic Music Company, which earned Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record' and regular rotation on BBC Radio 1.
Following a late 2019 collaborative release with dance music icon A-Trak, Loods opened 2020 with a powerhouse remix for Dusky's 17 Steps label, before unleashing 'Pure Bliss Meltdown', a peak-time Italo burner that Pete Tong quickly made his Essential New Tune. This was soon followed by the Gummi EP, a three-track exploration of synthwave house on Patrick Topping's Trick Label, which earned frequent airtime on Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard's BBC Radio 1 shows.
