Open Mic & Open Stage with a live band of Pittsburgh's most talented musicians!
Join us for our October open mic! This month, we're celebrating poetry and storytelling. All art forms and genres are welcome, from live music and singing to multidisciplinary art and comedy.
Featuring : A West Philly native by way of Liberia, West Africa, and Pittsburgh Adoptee, Dr. Jamillia Kamara Covington is a scholar, artist and new mama. Her work explores the themes of identity, belonging and legacy through the lens of community, creativity and culture.
Performance sign-ups are first-come, first-serve. We have a wonderful live band, so please be prepared to provide guidance on how you'd like them to support your performance, or bring your phone to play your track so the band can bring it to life.

Catch Jamillia the following day from 4-6p at Catapult Greater Pittsburgh for the opening reception and second installment of ROOTED, an audio-visual exhibition featuring 20 Pittsburgh-area creatives who hold space for us all. It will feature portraits, original poetry by Jamillia and audio reflections from the featured leaders.
