The Asheville Art Museum invites you to visit for free on Saturday, October 10 between 11am–5pm! Come celebrate the exhibition "The Art of Paper" with an afternoon of creativity and community engagement—featuring live music, art activities, exhibition tours, and more.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
11am–5pm: Free admission to the Museum, including the featured exhibition, "The Art of Paper: Selections of Handmade Paper Works from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation".
11:30am–3:30pm: Live piano in the Windgate Foundation Atrium with Willie Sime.
Noon, 1pm, and 2pm: "The Art of Paper" 30-minute Express Tours
12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm: "Warp, Weft, and the Grid", 30-minute Express Tours.
2–2:15pm, 3:15–3:30pm: Asheville School student dance performance in Explore Asheville Exhibition Hall (level 3), featuring "Warp, Weft, and the Grid".
2:30–3pm: Asheville School student dance and poetry performances in "The Art of Paper".

"The Art of Paper" is organized by Dieu Donne and The Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation. Lead Curator: Brett Littman, Independent Curator and Former Director of lsamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, The Drawing Center, and Dieu Donne. Co-Curators: Susan Gosin, Founder and Chair Dieu Donne, and Cynthia Nourse Thompson, Professor and Director of Curatorial Affairs, Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, Kennesaw State University. Programming for this exhibition is supported by the Harold & Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation.
