We’re hosting a Community Conversation on Monday, November 2, and we’d love for you to join us!At NAMI Johnson County, we’re working to better understand mental health systems in our community. We're not just looking at how organizations work together or how policies shape services, but we want to know what these systems actually look like for the people navigating them. As we conduct a social network analysis (SNA), we want to make sure community perspectives are part of that understanding, too.
We’re also launching Creative Minds, Human Rights, a City of Iowa City grant project exploring mental health as a human right through creative expression, connection, healing, and self-care. Both projects have us thinking about how we understand mental health in our community and whose voices are part of those conversations.
This will be a chance to share your thoughts, talk about what matters to you, and help us better understand mental health in Johnson County. You don’t need to be an expert or have everything figured out. We’re here to listen and learn from one another.
When: Monday, November 2 | 6–7:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:45 p.m.)
Where: R Place Peer Recovery Center, 702 S. Gilbert St., Ste. 111, Iowa City
Can’t make it in person but still want to share your perspective? Email Bella at [email protected] for the discussion questions so you can share your thoughts in writing.
We hope to see you there!
