💙 No registration is necessary — just come as you are! Everyone is welcome to attend and learn how we can better support individuals with autism in our community.
"This community training provides practical tools for individuals with autism, their families, caregivers, advocates, and community partners. Participants will learn about Autism Spectrum Disorder, common communication and sensory needs, and strategies to support safer interactions with law enforcement, dispatch, fire, EMS, school staff, therapy providers, and other responders.
The training covers what information to share during a 911 call, how to prepare before an emergency, and ways to reduce misunderstandings during stressful situations such as interviews, medical response, transport, restraint, or arrest.
Attendees will leave with practical tips to improve communication, promote safety, support de-escalation, and encourage positive outcomes when individuals with autism interact with first responders and community professionals." -Coronado
