About this Event
In this workshop, educators, caretakers, and creative community members will gather to learn the basics of knitting in a hands-on, creativity-sparking, restorative environment.
During our time together, participants will be guided step-by-step through beginner-friendly knitting techniques as we create a simple circular scarf from start to finish. You’ll leave with a wearable piece you made yourself—plus the confidence to keep knitting at home and bring the practice to the young people in your life, if you so choose!
Along the way, we’ll explore how knitting can be more than just a craft—it can be a calming, meditative practice and a meaningful tool for building community. We’ll share ideas for how to bring knitting into classrooms, after-school programs, and community spaces as a way to support focus, connection, and creative expression.
