About this Event
For generations, Black LGBTQIA+ people have stood at the forefront of resistance leading civil rights struggles, fueling revolutionary movements for Black power, and demanding liberation for all. We have always been here, reshaping the world with our courage, vision, and unrelenting fight for justice.
Generations 2026 honors this unbroken lineage. Rooted in Legacy, Rising in Power celebrates the revolutionary spirit of our ancestors while amplifying today's changemakers who carry the torch forward. This annual gathering unites the Bay Area's Black LGBTQIA+ community to recognize that our power flows through us from those who fought before and will surge through those who come after.
Throughout the evening, we celebrate current luminaries, the activists, organizers, artists, and visionaries standing on the shoulders of giants while blazing new trails. Their work echoes the fierce determination of Black LGBTQIA+ revolutionaries who demanded that freedom mean freedom for all of us.
The night culminates in the spectacular Generations Mini Ball, where participants compete for cash prizes while showcasing radical self-expression and Black queer excellence on the runway. Our joy, our beauty, and our unapologetic existence are acts of resistance. The celebration continues at the Generations Afterparty because our community and our power deserve to be honored all night long.
Join us. Honor the legacy. Celebrate our power.
