About this Event

Two-Day Workshop | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM each day.

Task

The question of common sense — the endeavor to exhibit the constitution of everyday understanding and thinking — has become a capital problem of the 21st century. Proof includes the:

  • Increased efforts of corporate and political entities to exploit common sense to achieve tactical and strategic outcomes;
  • Disturbances in revenue and profits effected when enterprises decouple their messaging from the common-sense views of clients, and;
  • Growing efforts to encode the constituents of common sense.

Response

The workshop:

  1. Deconstructs the phenomenon of common sense to its basic cognitive operations.
  2. Lays out common heuristic biases subverting everyday judgments, choices, and decisions.
  3. Delivers prescriptions to mitigate heuristic bias.

A social-psychological model is enacted and cybernetically framed to amplify its relatability to organizations across professions and industries.

Cognition. Meaning. Intelligence. The way we understand, think, and say. Our perspectives, narratives, and comprehension of things. Our choices and decisions. Togetherness. These fundamentally human phenomena are not disconnected from organizations. They are not detached from business, technology, or production. They are information processes and belong to the physics of the system. Sigetic amplifies the power of individuals to see, seize, and steer the operations to strengthen organizational reliability and performance.
