This practical session will provide guidance on the recognition and management of common oculoplastic conditions, helping attendees make informed referral decisions and identify cases requiring urgent ophthalmic review.
Topics will include:
- Lid lumps: benign lesions, differential diagnoses and malignancy red flags
- Ectropion and entropion: causes, symptoms and referral guidance
- Ptosis: assessment, red flags and management pathways
- Thyroid eye disease: recognition, initial management and urgent referral indicators
By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify common eyelid and periocular conditions
- Recognise red flags requiring urgent ophthalmic assessment
- Understand referral pathways for oculoplastic conditions and thyroid eye disease
- Apply a structured approach to triage, referral and patient counselling
