Back for the third year running - bigger, louder, stronger. Five epic challenges. One unforgettable day.
About this Event

Ready to claim the Commando Temple’s Strongest crown this year?
No weight classes - choose Category A, B, or C based on your current strength, not your ego. We’re all about fair competition, good vibes and big lifts. No trophy hunting - bring the right level and bring the energy.

What’s in the mix?
Five crowd-pleasing tests of grit and gas tank across the day:

  • A savage Shoulder Medley of sandbags and stones that only gets spicier as you go,
  • A split Overhead Press AMRAP (log into double dumbbells—deltoid pump guaranteed!),
  • A brutal Bus Pull & Push that’ll light up your lungs,
  • A Deadlift Ladder → Farmers Hold finisher for that forearm fire, and
  • A relentless Zercher Yoke Carry for max distance.

Spots are limited: just 12 athletes per category (A/B/C)—once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Whether you’re chasing PBs or your first comp, this is your shot. Pick your cat honestly, show up ready, and let’s make some noise.

Spectators - come down, get loud, and back your favourites. Strong lifts hit harder with a roaring crowd.

Ready? Hit sign-up, tell your mates, and we’ll see you on the floor!

Any questions? Or signed up already? Ping over your chosen category and t-shirt size to Charlie 07941531846.

ONLY 1 MORE SPACE LEFT IN CATEGORY A & B.

Event 1: Shoulder Medley
6 objects must be lifted from the floor to the shoulder in order within a 90‑second time limit. Objects must be placed on one shoulder, with one hand released, and athletes must wait for the down signal.
If the athlete has not completed all 6 objects, their score will be taken from the number of objects completed. The quickest time wins. Grip shirts are allowed; no tacky is allowed.

Cat A: 80kgs sandbag, 90kgs atlas stone, 83kgs natural stone, 100kgs sandbag, 100kgs atlas stone, 107kgs natural stone.
Cat B: 70kgs sandbag, 75kgs atlas stone, 76kgs natural stone, 80kgs sandbag, 90kgs atlas stone, 83kgs natural stone.
Cat C: 60kgs sandbag, 65kgs atlas stone, 65kgs natural stone, 70kgs sandbag, 75kgs atlas stone, 76kgs natural stone.

Event 2: Overhead Press for Reps

30 seconds log AMRAP (shoulder to overhead), then 30 seconds double hex dumbbell AMRAP (shoulder to overhead). Score is based on total accumulated reps. Athletes will have 5 seconds to transition between the log and dumbbells.
Implements must be lifted from the floor to the chest and then pressed overhead with a down signal. Athletes may put the objects down within the 30‑second windows.

Cat A: 80kgs log, 35kgs dumbbells
Cat B: 65kgs log, 25kgs dumbbells
Cat C: 50kgs log, 20kgs dumbbells

Event 3: Bus Pull and Push

Athletes must pull a minibus arm‑over‑arm using a rope, either seated or standing, for 10m. Once the 10m pull is completed, the bus must be pushed back to the start line.
Fastest time wins.

Event 4: Deadlift Ladder Into Farmers Handle Hold — 75 Seconds

Athletes must lift each bar from the floor to lockout, wait for the down signal, then move on. After attempting the deadlifts, they move to the farmers handles for the remainder of the 75 seconds.

The winner is the athlete who holds the handles off the floor the longest. Once the handles are dropped, time stops.

Athletes may make unlimited deadlift attempts.
There are 3 bars to lift before the farmers handles. Athletes do not have to complete all 3 bars before attempting the farmers handles; however, scoring is based on both:

  • Number of bars completed, then
  • Hold time on the farmers handles

Example (clarified):
If Athlete A completes 2 bars and holds for 30 seconds, and Athlete B completes all 3 bars but holds for only 10 seconds, Athlete B wins.

Straps allowed for deadlifts; not allowed for the farmers hold. No suits allowed.

Cat A: 180, 200, 220kgs — 120kgs each hand
Cat B: 140, 160, 180kgs — 100kgs each hand
Cat C: 100, 120, 140kgs — 80kgs each hand

Event 5: Zercher Yoke Carry — Max Distance (15m, Drop and Turn)

The yoke must be carried in a Zercher hold to the end of a 15m track, dropped, turned, and repeated as many times as possible in 90 seconds.
The athlete who carries the furthest distance wins.

The yoke is allowed to slide slightly when put down; however, excessive sliding or dragging will result in a warning.

Cat A: 140kgs
Cat B: 120kgs
Cat C: 100kgs
