Sunday evening is a quiet threshold between the weekend and the week ahead. This 75–90 minute community Yoga Nidra gathering offers a gentle space to slow down, reconnect inwardly, and move into the week with more steadiness and presence. It’s meant to feel less like another thing to accomplish and more like a place to simply arrive as you are. This is the first in what we hope will become a monthly Sunday-evening practice.
Yoga Nidra is a guided contemplative practice done lying down or in another comfortable position. The facilitator’s voice guides you into progressively deeper states of rest and awareness. No meditation or yoga experience is needed, and there is no physical yoga involved. You don’t need to hold any particular spiritual belief or feel “good at” slowing down.
What to expect: We’ll begin with a brief arrival and grounding practice, plus a little context on Yoga Nidra and how to make the experience your own. Sally will then guide a 40–45 minute Yoga Nidra practice, followed by spacious time to return, integrate, and reflect together.
What to bring: A yoga mat, blanket, pillow, or anything else that helps you rest comfortably.
About the facilitator: Dr. Sally Nazari is an integrative holistic psychologist. Her work brings psychological understanding into conversation with contemplative practice, spirituality, and embodied awareness. Learn more at drsallynazari.com.
Hosted by Common Street Spiritual Center. Offered by donation, and all are welcome.
