About this Event
It's almost winter, which means it's time to adorn your home in seasonal merriment -- so why not make it magical? Join the Colvin Coven in this Yule season workshop where we'll be making 12 inch wide wreaths from fresh pine.
🎄✨
Magical Properties of Pine Wreaths:
Pine, both fresh and dried, is a powerful tree in Wicca traditions. According to Wicca Academy,
"Pines are among the oldest living trees, and their evergreen needles made them symbols of life that survives the dark. Romans linked the pine to the gods Attis and Bacchus, and pine cones topped the thyrsus staff of Dionysian rites. Across Europe evergreen boughs were brought indoors at midwinter. Pine resin was used to seal boats and torches. Witches turn to pine for cleansing, protection, healing and steady prosperity, especially around Yule."
For Pagans, wreaths can be used as a talisman or home charm, to empower and decorate your altar, and more. Making one by hand is a special, powerful thing!
About the Event:
To celebrate Yule season, the Colvin Coven is putting on a Pagan wreath making workshop! We will begin with education around the magic of the season and the materials. Then will be a facilitated workshop, so don't worry if you've never made a wreath before. We'll make a wreath from fresh pine then adorn it with items that increase it's spiritual properties, like pine cones and cinnamon sticks for example. This is a fun opportunity to make a magical, seasonal item for your home while also connecting with other witches in your area!

About the Colvin Coven:
The Colvin Coven is based out of Colvin House, a coworking space and event venue inside a historic mansion located in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. With old mulberry trees on location and the lake just across the street, Colvin House is a lovely location to practice witchcraft. We aren't what you would traditionally consider a coven; instead we focus on education based events to welcome folks who are just beginning or have been practicing for a long time! Our goal is to create a space where folks can learn together and from one another through our Pagan events.
