About this Event

Presented in the Colvin House, a historic turn-of-the-century Edgewater mansion, built in 1909 by Frank Lloyd Wright contemporary George Maher, and revived and maintained by the Creative Coworking Company, we are thrilled to present CANDLELIGHT VOYAGE, an intimate journey through the beauty of classical music.
In the Candlelight Voyage, come be transported to the furthest reaches of classical music's beauty. From the Baroque, to the joyful simplicity of the Classicalists, to the emotional depths of the Romantics and the surreal and existential questionings of the 20th and 21st centuries. This four-evening series highlights the most profound moments chronologically, starting with Bach and before, to Rachmaninoff and beyond. Each performance will include an intimate, powerful, candlelit stage, and one-of-a-kind personal introductions from the musical artists themselves.
Night 1 (Th 5/2): Works for piano, violin and cello. Featured works: Leoninus, Vivaldi, Mozart, Boccherini, Haydn, J.S. Bach and Beethoven.

Night 2 (Th 5/9): Works for piano, violin and cello. Featured works: Chopin, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson.

Night 3 (Th 5/16): Works for piano, violin and cello. Featured works: Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Britten, Ysaye, Ravel, Clarke and Shostakovitch.

Night 4 (Th 5/23: Works for piano, violin and cello. Featured works: Part, Schnittke, Messiaen, Glass, Xenakis, Saariaho, Nicole Mitchell and Nina Simone.
