Join the Evansville African American Museum for the 18th Annual Colour of Humanity Gala on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Bally’s Riverfront Event Center!This year’s Gala carries special significance as the nation commemorates the 250th Anniversary of U.S. Independence. Centered on the theme of Civil Leadership, the evening will honor the African American trailblazers, leaders, and community members whose service, vision, perseverance, and contributions have helped build and strengthen Evansville and communities across the nation.
The Colour of Humanity Gala is an evening of celebration, recognition, fellowship, music, and support for the Evansville African American Museum and its mission to preserve and share African American history and culture.

The evening will feature live music by Teacha’s Band from Chicago, along with live and silent auctions and additional opportunities to support the museum.
This year’s celebration will also include a commemorative program book, created as a keepsake of the evening and a lasting record of our 18th Annual Colour of Humanity Gala and its Civil Leadership theme.
